Our Commitment to Transparency
TravelThreeMuch is built on one principle: we only write about places we have personally visited and would genuinely recommend. This page explains how we earn money from this site and how that does — and does not — affect our content.
What Are Affiliate Links?
Some links on TravelThreeMuch are affiliate links. This means that if you click a link and go on to make a booking or purchase, we may earn a small commission from the company you booked with. This comes at absolutely no extra cost to you — the price you pay is identical whether you use our link or go directly to the website.
Which Programmes Do We Participate In?
TravelThreeMuch intends to participate in the following affiliate programmes:
- Booking.com Partner Programme — hotel and accommodation bookings
- Agoda Affiliate Programme — hotel and accommodation bookings, particularly strong for Asia
- Viator Affiliate Programme — tours, activities and experiences
- GetYourGuide Affiliate Programme — tours, activities and experiences
- Amazon Associates Programme — travel gear and book recommendations
We may add further affiliate partnerships in the future. When we do, this page will be updated to reflect them.
Does This Affect What We Recommend?
No. Our recommendations are based entirely on personal experience. We have visited every place we write about. We link to booking platforms for places we would book ourselves, through the same platforms we personally use.
We do not recommend a hotel, tour, or experience because it pays us a commission. We recommend it because we found it worth recommending — and then we check whether an affiliate link is available.
If a better option exists that has no affiliate programme, we will still recommend it. Our readers’ trust is worth more to us than any commission.
How to Identify Affiliate Links
We do not mark every affiliate link individually within post content as this would make our articles difficult to read. Instead, we display this notice at the top of every post that contains affiliate links:
“This post contains affiliate links. We may earn a small commission if you book through our links, at no extra cost to you.”
If you ever want to know whether a specific link is an affiliate link, email us at ttmoffl@gmail.com and we will tell you directly.
Sponsored Content
Occasionally TravelThreeMuch may publish sponsored content — articles or posts that have been paid for by a brand or tourism board. All sponsored content is clearly labelled at the top of the post with the words “This post is sponsored by [Brand/Organisation].”
We do not publish sponsored content that contradicts our editorial standards or that we could not recommend to a reader planning a real trip.
Questions?
If you have any questions about our affiliate relationships or how we make money, we are happy to answer them honestly.
